FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Is a deposit required to book an event?
    Yes. Dave requires a non-refundable deposit to secure your event date and time. The cost of the deposit is the price of one ticket to the event of your choosing. So depending on which type of event you are hosting, the deposit fee ranges from $32 to $50.
  • How much space will I need to host an event?
    A Paint with Dave party is about the same as hosting a dinner party. You'll need table space of approximately 2 feet by 2 feet (60 cm by 60 cm) for each guest. Imagine a dinner party with large plates where everyone needs plenty of table space and elbow room. So however many people you can comfortably fit for a dinner party would be about the same for a paint party. You'll also need somewhere for Dave to set up his instructor's area. This can be a separate table or counter somewhere near to the group. Extra tables available upon request for a fee.
  • I want to book a private event but I don't have a good space, what do I do?
    If you want to book a paint party but don't have the space at your home to host an event, Dave has options to help you out. First off, consider collaborating with a friend, co-worker, or family member who might have access to a suitable space. Consider asking your favorite bar, restaurant, Church, or any venue that might be suitable, if they'd be willing to host your event. You may also consider renting a room for your event. Conference rooms are available from most Hotels, or you can book a room at the CASA. If you absolutely cannot find a space for your party, Dave can provide a room at CASA for an additional fee. *Please note dates may have to be changed to suit room rental availability.
  • Is there a minimum number of people required for an event?
    Not at all! Unlike others, Dave does not require a minimum number of attendees and there is no outrageous flat rate fee for small groups. Instead, Dave offers small-group rates for groups of 5 or less. Whether it's for you and a friend, a group of co-workers, or a small party, you only pay the per-person price for each attendee. The small-group rates for attendees of 5 or less ranges from $40 to $50 per person.
  • Is there a maximum number of people I can have at the event?
    Yes. To provide the best possible experience for you and your guests, Dave has a maximum of 30 attendees per event. Paint-with-Dave parties work best in small groups and through years of trial and error, Dave has found that 30 or less is best. If you are desperately planning an event for more than 30 attendees (like 31, or 32, not 40), you may book a free consultation with Dave to see if he can make something work by doing a more simple or small sized paining. Otherwise, Dave recommends you consider breaking the group up into separate dates.
  • Can I cancel or reschedule my Paint with Dave experience?
    Things happen, if you need to cancel or reschedule, just call 587-370-DAVE (587-370-3282) at least 48 hours before your event start time, so that we can best accommodate your needs.
  • Is there a minimum age for Paint with Dave events?
    Attendees for Paint with Dave events must be at least 8 years old at the time of the event. Children aged 8-13 must be and accompanied by an adult. Some public events are 18+
  • I don't live in Lethbridge, can I still have a Paint with Dave experience?
    Absolutely! Paint with Dave is mobile and serves all of Southern Alberta. If you're within 250km of Lethbridge, Dave will come to your location to put on a paint party event for a small travel fee. If you live outside of Southern Alberta Dave, you can still book a Paint with Dave event. Travel and accommodation requirements can be negotiated. Start with filling out a reservation form to book your experience and Dave will confirm the details. You can then register for your event by selecting the appropriate option from the catalog. Please note that travel is free in the Lethbridge area only. Please see our Event Venue & Travel Policy for details related to associated travel costs for your region.
  • What if I want a custom painting for my event?
    No problem! Dave would be happy to bring you idea to life and turn it into a customized paint party for you and your guests! Just book a consultation with Dave. After the consultation, once you have successfully booked your event, Dave will make 2 or 3 new paintings for you to choose from, based on the information gathered during your consultation. *Deposit required
